One Seaport Garage

When WS Development (Chestnut Hill, MA) engaged Scott Love Design and White Light Visual to make their new garage at One Seaport memorable and inviting, the team got to work on colorful, bright designs to turn otherwise dark and concrete gray spaces alive.  This parking garage would save the 1,300,000-square-foot development.  WS Development is spearheading the largest single real estate project in Boston's history, spanning 23 acres across 20 city blocks, by developing 6.3 million square feet of mixed-use space, including 1.1 million square feet of retail - a great deal of it serviced by this new parking garage.  The garage entry is now bright and welcoming with the use of bright white paint and colorful pastel custom-painted lettering.  The letters are laid out digitally and scaled to the space, then projected and hand-stenciled directly to the block walls with an artful touch using custom-tinted exterior paint and a steady hand.

Elsewhere in the garage, attention-to-detail featured the colorful wrapping of support columns by using custom-fabricated aluminum boxes rich with graphics to tie into the stylized themes throughout the space, enticing, informing, and directing patrons to elevator lobbies known as "Flippers" to guide visitors to the vibrant, mixed-use businesses, restaurants, and shops above.
