Endicott College
Peter Frates Hall honors the incredibly-inspiring work of Peter Frates, a Beverly, MA native diagnosed with ALS at the young age of 27. Located in his hometown, Endicott College wanted to inspire incoming freshmen and honor the work and story of Pete and his family by dedicating their newest residence hall in his name. This state-of-the-art facility opened in September of 2016 and when they wanted to create a museum-quality graphic story in the lobby, they turned to White Light Visual. Working closely with the Frates family, the team at White Light designed, wrote, produced, and installed the lobby graphics to tell Pete's story to residents and visitors for generations. Eight years later, Pete lost his courageous battle with ALS but not before reaching iconic status around the world. Largely credited with making the Ice Bucket Challenge a worldwide social media sensation that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to find a cure for ALS, Pete has inspired millions towards selfless actions that can ignite meaningful change. Elsewhere on campus, White Light Visual has designed and produced raw steel signage for Gully's Pub, helped the Athletics Department honors athletic accomplishments with custom graphic panels, and White Light designed, produced and installed a retrospective hall of supergraphics for Ginger Judge, a former student, trustee and major benefactor of the new Ginger Judge Science Building. This impactful display incorporates wall-covering murals, dimensional bronze lettering, and acrylic image panels.
