Down Under: New Parking Garage at One Seaport Boston to Set Itself Apart With the Help of White Ligh
In the world of urban parking lots and garages, few people care to share their pleasant experiences with friends and colleagues. Typically, city garages are super-expensive, subterranean labyrinths that leave little to be desired.
When WS Development (Chestnut Hill, MA) engaged Scott Love Design and White Light Visual to make their new garage at One Seaport memorable and inviting, the team got to work on colorful, bright designs to turn otherwise dark and concrete gray spaces alive.
WS Development is spearheading the largest single real estate project in Boston's history, spanning 23 acres across 20 city blocks, by developing 6.3 million square feet of mixed use space, including 1.1 million square feet of retail - a great deal of it serviced by this new parking garage.
One Seaport Garage Welcomes Cars
The garage entry, now bright and welcoming by the use of bright white paint and colorful pastel custom-painted lettering. The letters laid out digitally and scaled to the space, then projected and hand-stenciled directly to the block walls wit an artful touch using custom-tinted exterior paint and a steady hand.
Tedious Stencil Painting for Maximum Impact
Below the Seaport streets, custom column wraps were fabricated using bent aluminum forms powder-coated bright white - ready to receive custom-cut vinyl lettering.
