Creating Creative Spaces for a Biomedical Research Leader
Merck is an impressive category leader in biomedical research and product development dedicated to make a difference in the lives of people globally through innovative medicines, vaccines, and animal health products. Around the globe, they are widely regarded as the premier, research-intensive biopharmaceutical company and are dedicated to providing leading innovations and solutions for today and the future, so when they turned to White Light Visual to help tell that story through environmental graphics design, production and installation, they couldn't have asked for a more prepared partner.
Over the Charles River from their Boston, MA offices, Merck Cambridge is their new 50,000 square foot microbiome research site dedicated to researching the trillions of bacteria found in the human digestive system and using that research to develop forward-thinking medicines.
The site has ornate furnishings and fixtures ripe to be enhanced by chic branding elements such as a stainless steel Merck logo set atop P-90 aqua-tinted plexiglass mounted to an abstract, layered sculptural wall. The Merck branding is father carried forth on the front of a reception desk and waiting area where White Light deployed additional dimensional elements and lettering.
Merck, Cambridge, MA
This environment is home to some of the most cutting-edge researchers in their trade, charged with creatively exploring bacteria in search of the next and greatest breakthrough in biopharmaceuticals. The environment had to be unique and visually stimulating.
By far, the most daring of al the environmental graphics designs and productions is the two-sided, full-color, large-format bacteria deployed onto multiple tempered glass panels separating the researchers common cafe area from a heavily-trafficked hallway. Huge graphics transition from pane to pane adding intense color, abstract shapes and detail to interact with Merck researchers and guests. Produced with a unique combination of high-resolution prints to clear and opaque vinyls, perfectly aligned, adhered together and CAD cut, this is precisely the type of one-of-a-kind processes engineered by White Light Visual and both produced and installed by the White Light team of experts. The results are stunning.
