Foundation Brewing, Portland, Maine: A Tasty Take on the Craft Brewing Beer Boom
If you have been hearing repeated rumbles that get louder and louder, it is likely one or two things: The incredible boom of the small-batch craft beer brewing industry, particularly in Maine and Vermont, or the repeated stomach grumblings of the thirsty thousands that cause traffic jams, assemble in line in the dark of night and make long pilgrimages to obtain just a few cans of the coveted brewings. Foundation Brewing Company is just one of the local craft brewers experiencing a meteoric rise in popularity . Working in conjunction with Puelle Design (Yarmouth, ME) our White Light Manager north of the border spearheaded the graphics package at The Foundation Brewing's new Tasting Room that opened in early October.
The tasting room is designed with an industrial feel, complete with cinder block bar (think 'foundation') and styled with grays and white palettes to play on the heavy chemistry that is the backbone of fine microbrewing. The bar's soffit is hand-crafted too, faced with multiple graphic panels that carry forth the brand's sharp packaging standards and brand, including a dimensional Foundation Beer logo and custom-cut vinyl appliqués to the walls.
